Name: Brian Lancaster
Age: 21
School: Colorado State University
Major: English Education
Instrument: Baritone
Primary Instrument: Trombone
Corps/Years marched: Troopers 07,08
Drill number: Brass 43
Hometown: Colorado Springs
Home show: Denver, Colorado
Where are we on tour? Douglas, Wyoming

What are you hobbies?: If I’m not enjoying the company of my Phi Mu Alpha
fraternity brothers, or reading for a class, you’ll probably find me at my computer playing games. My favorite games right now are World of Warcraft and Team Fortress 2.

What is your favorite:
Book: Ender’s Game
Movie: Super Troopers
TV Show: Scrubs/M*A*S*H/The Daily Show with Jon Stewart

Who is your hero? Anyone who challenges what is popular in order to stand up for what is right.

Why did you choose the Troopers? I chose the Troopers because it was close and I had some friends in the corps. However, after my first year I don’t think I could march anywhere else. The experiences that I’ve gained through the corps, including the family atmosphere and the traditions, are what made me come back.

What has been your favorite part of tour so far? Well, we’ve only had all days so far, but one of my favorite parts of the summer is learning drill. It’s a tad bit geeky, but it’s just really interesting to watch as every new drill set is set up and things start to take
shape.

Who is your hero?
Everyone who has had the strength and courage to pave the way for me, that I might have the freedoms I enjoy every day. Too all those who have given so much to me, and who I can never fully repay, I thank you.

Why did you choose the Troopers? Because it was the closest corps to my home. But after my first rehearsal, I notice a certain vibe, and I wanted to be a part of that vibe. Even after being cut from the drum line, I didn’t give up. That vibe became the '07 Troopers.

What has been your favorite part of tour so far? I love the sense of home. We all come from different parts of the world, yet here we belong. Here we are family. These people I perform with are my brothers and sisters. I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.
