Adopt-A-Trooper
1957 saw the beginning of a legacy in Drum Corps. When the Troopers began no one knew that it would become what it is today—A Corps of musicians from all over the world, who come together every summer to represent Wyoming on the national stage.
This summer the Troopers will travel more than 10,000 miles, spend 11 weeks together and compete on 30 fields. They will rehearse 12 hours a day and become tomorrow’s leaders whose core values of Honor, Loyalty, and Dedication will carry them off the field and into the real world. An endeavor such as this is not a simple task. While the Troopers are 50% self funded, their need is still great. New uniforms, instruments, upgrades, food, fuel, staff, and insurance will total a bill of $500,000 by summer’s end.
We invite you to “Adopt-A-Trooper”. With your support, this summer will be a huge success! And in return, the Trooper member you’re supporting will send you postcard updates from the road!
Yes! I would like to be a part of the“Adopt-A-Trooper” program! -

A Trooper’s Pride |
My years in the Troopers can only be described
as being the best time of my life. I
have had the privilege to bear the crossed sabers
on the marching battlefield for the past
two drum corps seasons.
To be part of this
organization’s resurrection has been simply
amazing. It has impacted not only the three
months spent on tour, but also my day-to-day
life in it’s entirety.
I walk taller,
stand firmer,
and bear three
words to live
my excellence
by. Honor,
Loyalty and
Dedication are
not only what it
means to be a
Trooper, but to
commit to only
doing things all
out.

I rip my horn down and
sixteen counts later I
hear the anticipation
from the crowd rising.
We’re about to do our
signature drill move--- the
sunburst. I hear the
crowd going nuts. I feel
the energy making a
summer of hard work
worth doing. Our commitment
to each other is strong; I know every
person is doing their part and they trust I’m
doing mine. Getting ready, I hear a fellow
member say “push!” He knows we’re all
tired; he is too. Is this what we’ve worked for
all summer?
This is what it’s come down to--these final 30
seconds of the season. Our last show, our
last sunburst, and our last time performing
for people who love us. Here, expanding
that epic circle for the last time; the crowd is
on their feet and I don’t want them sitting
down. We sound amazing; I’m leaving my
performance on the field--having no regrets.
Our last show ended. The crowd went crazy
as we stood at parade rest. I had never been
so proud of anything in my entire life; to this
day I still have not felt any prouder. I love
that feeling; knowing I tried my hardest and
everybody knew--everybody felt I did. That
is the greatest feeling in the world.
