Local Events The Troopers Drum & Bugle Corps is celebrating their 53rd year! To kick off their 2011 tour, the Troopers will have a day full of community events. It begins in the morning at Fort Caspar with a community breakfast cooked by volunteers in their new 45’ commercial kitchen, “the food truck”. The public is invited to come out and enjoy a breakfast of pancakes, eggs, and sausage, juice, and coffee from 8am to 10 am. A donation of $5 per person will help offset the cost of food. Stay and watch the Troopers rehearse. Then, at high noon in downtown Casper, a stand-still performance by the Troopers horn line will take place. Finally, the annual fundraising event, A Night With the Troopers will take place in the evening on the parade grounds of Fort Caspar. The Troopers’ uniforms are based off the 11th Ohio Cavalry’s uniforms. The 11th Ohio Cavalry was stationed at Fort Caspar. Gates open at 4:00 pm with dinner served at 5:30 pm. The evening’s events will include the inaugural Hall of Fame induction of Jim & Grace Jones, Tony Monterastelli, John Masterson, Ruth Anne Atnip, and Ted & Traute Gilbert. The evening culminates with the Troopers playing their 2011 program as a stand-still performance.
