Corps Director's April Report

The final camp of the season is now in the history books, and with it comes excitement for the start of summer. It was another fantastic experience filled with great memories, great sounds, new drill, and great laughs! This group of members, the staff, and volunteers are nothing but fun. The weather was beautiful the entire weekend, and the corps was able to set the first several pages of drill. We were also very happy to see the Colorguard. They are looking marvelous!

We are very grateful to our Heath Team Consultant, Jim Olea for attending the April camp and certifying members of our staff and admin team in CPR.

This is an important step to ensuring the safety of the drum corps and anyone involved. Health, safety, and the overall member experience is our number one priority this year.

Last week Development Director Sue Masterson, in conjunction with the Alumni Association launched the On the Road Again Campaign, designed to build stronger connections between the current members, and the long blue line. Commemorative coins are available through this campaign as an alumni exclusive. For each coin sold, one member will receive a special 2019 Beyond Boundaries necklace. Visit www.TroopersAlumni.com to join this unique fundraiser.

Today, we are also pleased to announce the re-launch of TroopAid, our annual fundraiser geared toward raising money for our food program, and other logistical needs. We ask for your support, especially in the food program. Go to www.TroopersDrumCorps.org/troopaid

In less than three weeks, the organization will arrive at Northwest Nazarene University in Nampa, Idaho to begin Spring Training. Earlier this week, we were very excited to announced plans for the Drum Corps Experience Camp. This free educational event is geared toward band students, colorguard students, and band directors living in Idaho's Treasure Valley. All you have to do is register online and show up on May 31st at 12:00pm. For details and to register go to www.TroopersDrumCorps.org.

Lastly, WE NEED DRIVERS.

This drum corps will not be going anywhere if we don't get some folks to step up in this critical role. We've been on the search for months, and are having difficulty in this area. If you are waiting for someone else to do it, that ship has sailed. You are next in line. Please contact me this week so that we can get this drum corps on the road. My email address is k.jackson@troopersdrumcorps.org.

Thank you to all of our staff, volunteers, amazing alumni, our fans, and most of all our new and returning members for an incredible winter season. Now, let's get ready to hit the road!

Sincerely,

Kristy Jackson, Troopers Corps Director
