Troopers Mourn Loss of Susie McMurry

“It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to the beautiful soul that was Susie McMurry. Her incredible generosity and support of the Troopers have been instrumental in reshaping the organization, and we will be forever grateful. Susie inspired us with her genuine love for young people and reinforced how the marching arts could have such a positive impact in their lives.

“The Troopers have been blessed by having the ideals and values of the McMurrys as a part of our culture. Never to be taken for granted, we understand how invaluable their trust and convictions have been in helping us develop a stronger purpose within ourselves. From the foundation that was laid for the organization’s home in 2005 to providing direct support for numerous young people today, Susie shared a compassion and nurturement for youth that is beyond comparison.

“We will miss you, Susie, but we will carry your spirit on the field with us this summer knowing that you are smiling down on us, cheering us on, and waiting to hear Battle Hymn. We will continue to make you proud!”
